Rope Access CPD

Rope access -refined.

By Simon Downing -Creative director Bluco Projects

Since revalidating my IRATA LVL 3 three years ago I have sought to improve upon fundamental and advanced rigging and rescue techniques within different environments. I intuitively sensed that I lacked a deeper understanding and comprehension of the methodology involved within this professional field.

The international rope access trade associations syllabus truly is a work of creative and industrious genius. Providing a fundamental framework that is consistently proven to be trusted and reliable. However due to its necessary rigidity the boundary's of what can be taught are tightly set.

Working under loads.

If one wishes to expand upon a deeper understanding and comprehension of the craft they must look elsewhere.

The various teachings and experiences can then be brought back to the centre and unsegregated into the larger whole. Increasing the radius of ones understanding of the subject, like a snowball gradually gathering in size.

Observing the observed.

So a big thank you to all the teachers and individuals who have helped me the previous three years broaden my understanding within this wonderful profession we all operate within. I hope one day I may also be the teacher for others
